OXIA is an independent kitchen designer based in Brive-la-Gaillarde, in the Corrèze. We sell German-made kitchens in four forms: Prêt-à-poser — supply only, you fit it; Assistance de pose — you carry, unpack and clear away, our fitter does the technical work; Sur-mesure posé — designed, delivered and fitted by our own team; Clé en main — the kitchen plus the electrics, plumbing and decorating coordinated by us. Your price is worked out on the plan, after the first appointment, and written out item by item on the quotation. We work within about 80 km of Brive, which covers the Périgord and the north of the Lot, and we do all of it in English.

What goes into a kitchen quotation · How it works, step by step

Kitchen cabinets assembled in the factory, doors and drawers already fitted, ready for delivery
Made in Germany

Not flat-pack. Fully assembled.

Every cabinet arrives from the factory built: panels dowelled and glued, back panel screwed on, hinges and runners adjusted, doors and drawers in place. You never assemble a carcase — you put it on its adjustable feet or hang it on its rail.

  • 16 mm carcases, tested for fifteen years of use
  • More than 80 door fronts, 2026 colours: sand, taupe, olive, stone blue
  • Timber from PEFC-certified forests, German GS product-safety mark
  • Furniture guaranteed 10 years by OXIA, backed by our manufacturer, plus a two-year OXIA fitting guarantee
  • The same cabinets for the utility room, bathroom, dressing room, study and hallway
English-speaking design service

One person to talk to, from the plan to the handover.

The hard part of a French kitchen is rarely the kitchen. It is finding an electrician, a plumber and a plasterer who turn up, agreeing what is included, and understanding a quotation written in a language you half read. We do that part.

Design and quotation in English

3D plan, written specification, a net price and a dated lead time. The contract itself is French law — we go through it with you clause by clause before you sign.

French tradespeople, named

In the Clé en main option, each trade is named in your contract, insured, scheduled and paid directly by assignment of payment. You never chase five people in a language you are still learning.

Second homes handled remotely

We survey while you are here in summer, fit while the house is empty in winter, and send photographs at each stage. Nothing is signed at your house — French law, and a protection for you.

Where we work

Brive, and 80 km in every direction.

Driving time from our studio, not mileage, is what counts — an hour of winding departmental road costs more than an hour of motorway. The travel charge is worked out from the driving time and printed on the quotation before you order.

Full list, in French, on our towns page — every town has its own page with the driving time, the distance and what we offer there.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you speak English?

Yes. We design, quote, write the contract and run the site in English, and we deal with the French tradespeople on your behalf. Roughly one in ten second homes in the Dordogne belongs to a British owner, and several thousand British residents live in the department: an English-speaking single point of contact is the main thing they ask for.

Where do you work?

Within about 80 km of Brive-la-Gaillarde: the whole of the Corrèze, the Périgord (Terrasson, Montignac, Sarlat, Périgueux) and the north of the Lot (Souillac, Martel, Gramat, Saint-Céré, Gourdon, Cahors, Figeac). Every town has its own page with the real driving time and distance from our studio.

Who makes the kitchens?

Europe’s largest kitchen manufacturer, in Germany. Cabinets are dowelled and glued, delivered fully assembled with doors and drawers already fitted, and tested for fifteen years of use. They carry a 10-year OXIA guarantee on the furniture, backed by our manufacturer’s ten-year commitment to us, running from the day the kitchen is delivered and subject to correct installation and care; appliances, sink and tap carry their own makers’ guarantees, and the French statutory guarantees apply on top. You will see the technical data sheet at our showroom, on your quotation and on every unit delivered.

How do you price a kitchen?

On the plan, after the first appointment. We measure, we draw, then we cost the written specification item by item: units, worktop, delivery, fitting and the VAT rate each appear on their own line, so you can see what you are paying for and take the quotation home to compare in your own time. No crossed-out prices, no “VAT paid for you”, no percentage off, and no price that expires at midnight.
